GRADUATED! And a pocket watch!

Thu Jun 18, 2009, 10:51 PM
As the title kindly explained for me, I successfully graduated from highschool yaaaay. In an hour or so, I'm going to pick up my grades list and see how well I did exactly. I didn't really doubt myself earlier on, but I was just nervous of "what if.." thoughts.

Only 3 people from my class failed, two of whom can still make it if they re-do one exam (we all get one shot after all).

Summer holidays can begin!

Also, I got a very beautiful pocket watch from my parents as a graduation present! It's a hunter case model (one you can open and close) and depicts an 14th century ship on the front, and a gorgeous art-nouveau style etching on the back. It's also a manual watch (meaning you have to rewind it every 40 hours or so, using the crown on the top), swiss made and has Incabloc prevention (shock/inaccuracy prevention). The brand itself is called Monté, but I had never heard of it before.
I could choose between Roman and Germanic numerals and I choose the first, because it looks more stylish on this type of watch!
It also has a separate dial for seconds, and very, verrrry elegantly shaped hands. I will upload a picture of it very soon!

  • Mood: Excited
  • Listening to: RHCP - Easily
  • Reading: Empire of Ivory (still)

The enemy is to my front. The enemy is to my flanks. The enemy is to my rear. Perfect, they won't escape this time.

You might as well stand and fight because if you run you will only die tired.

Congrats on your graduation, Maaike! People love to underrate academic progress but really, not many make it that far.

I know how the "what if" feels like, I was unsure about my current semester's math score and had to check in case I had failed. To my surprise, I did and had to burn though a recovery exam just to get back up.

It made me realize that the teacher does matter both positively and negatively, some of them are just cruel and will try to stop the students just because. I hope you don't run into any of them anytime soon.
